An Introduction to Oleta Adams
Seattle native Oleta Adams is an American soul, jazz and gospel singer and pianist. Adams faced rejection with her first demo tape, which she recorded upon moving to Los Angeles. At the time, music executives were only interested in disco.
Her singing coach, Lee Farrell, suggested she relocate. She moved to Kansas City were she began to perform and released her first two albums in the early 1980’s, which she financed herself.
